Visual Traceroute Tool

Trace network routes with visual path mapping, hop-by-hop latency analysis, and geographic visualization for comprehensive network diagnostics.

Visual Traceroute Tool
Trace the network path to any hostname or IP address and visualize each hop
About Traceroute

What is Traceroute?

Traceroute is a network diagnostic tool that tracks the path packets take from your computer to a destination server, showing each intermediate router (hop) along the way.

Understanding the Results

Each hop represents a router that forwards your packets. Lower latency (response time) is better. High latency or packet loss at specific hops can indicate network congestion or issues.

Latency Interpretation

  • < 20ms: Excellent (usually local/regional)
  • 20-50ms: Good (national traffic)
  • 50-100ms: Acceptable (international traffic)
  • > 100ms: High latency (may affect performance)

Note

If a hop times out, it may be due to firewall rules, ICMP rate limiting, or network policies. This is common and doesn’t always indicate a failure.

About Traceroute

Traceroute is a network diagnostic tool that displays the route packets take across an IP network. It helps identify network bottlenecks, routing issues, and connection problems by showing each hop along the path.
